FAQ's

What levels do you work with? My son is 3 years old, and I am a triathlete, can you work with both of us?
I have been teaching swimming to children from 6 months and older for over 30 years. I have worked with adults with varied skill and experience levels from beginners with fear of the water to experienced swimmers seeking speed exclusively for competition. So yes, I would love to work with you and anyone in your family.

Can I learn to swim?
Yes. I have taught people of all ages how to swim. Anyone who wants to learn, can.

How long will it take?
It depends on what your goals are and how much you are able to practice. I can better answer this question after our first session together to get a better understanding of your current level.

Do you work with special needs students?
Yes. I have done private lessons with and have coached special needs students on my team. Each student is an individual who needs to have lessons tailored to what works for him or her and how he or she learns.

What equipment will I need when I meet with you?
You will need goggles and a cap, if your hair is past your ears.

Where do you primarily do private swim lessons?
Primarily at THE HEIGHTS (and the Maplewood Family Aquatic Center in the summer.) Lessons can be done at the client's house. Contact us for details.

I am looking for swim lessons to complement my fitness routine in the weight room. Can you help me with both?
Absolutely. Swimming is great cross training for strength work. As a fitness coach, I can help you in the pool and on "dryland" as well.

Do you go to client's homes for swim lessons?
Yes. Contact us for details or arrangements.

You are also a coach? What swimming team do you coach?
Currently, I am the head coach and owner of St. Louis Spirit Swimming, a USA Swimming Team with swimmers aged 7-18 years. In the summer, I also have college students and adults swimming with our team. I primarily coach the 9-18 year olds.
